ZAHA HADID

Zaha Hadid was an Architect and founded Zaha Hadid Architects in 1979. She created drawings and paintings which were a way of helping her designs take form. Most of her paintings have a very busy composition, for example her use of fine, intricate detail. At first glance patterns can be seen within the shapes created. Some shapes create patterns that almost look reflective. They are very structured and controlled. They include lines and shapes which are very sharp and sophisticated. Her works are painted in a way that allows the eye to glide through them. Even though these paintings are very abstract, they almost show different imaginary worlds. The colours vary in each individual piece however within each one the colours contrast each other. Her works are very architectural. This is an element that may influence my own project, looking at lines and shapes in architecture and landscapes.
