I have created this oil painting as a way of testing out colours, compositions, shapes and texture. The painting includes a variety of colours such as black, blue, yellow ochre, red, white and pink. The painting is made of thin layers of oil paint allowing the colours and paint marks from underneath to show through. There are parts of the painting that show sharper more geometric shapes which lay next to shapes that are not as tight and precise. This piece shows scraping of the paint moving, suggesting movement and showing space in the painting.
