Richard Tuttle’s work has inspired my own practice because of the materials he uses to create his pieces. He uses different mediums such as painting, sculpture, drawing, installation, printmaking, books and furniture. I’m inspired by the playfulness of his artwork, the process and the outcome. The colours and the different materials and scale of his pieces work well together. His use of traditional and non-traditional materials and paints help contrast work. All these different elements give the art an experimental feel. His way of thinking about space and light and how to present his works in the right way is relatable.
