Artist Research - John Hoyland

John Hoyland’s paintings have been important in my own practice, because of his use of modern paints like acrylic paint and how he uses and experiments with them in his paintings. His paintings include multiple layers of paints, painted on in different ways such as pouring, dripping and larger dominant brushstrokes. The expressive way of working and vibrant colours create depth in his paintings.
